I believe the primary focus of executive coaching is to help individuals achieve a behavioural change brought about by an increase in self-awareness.
I act as a completely independent sounding board and challenge assumptions, helping to reset thinking. My focus is always on the individual, creating an environment of trust and psychological safety allowing them to be honest with me and, more importantly, with themselves.
An important aspect of coaching is the ‘chemistry’ between the coachee and me. As such, I always start any coaching programme with a no obligation meeting to check how it ‘feels’ to work together, explain what kind of coach I am and agree the desired outcomes of the coaching programme.
Behavioural Change Outcomes
Typically a coaching programme involves six 2 hour sessions over 4 to 6 months and will lead to one or more of the following positive and sustainable behaviour changes:
Enhanced leadership skills
Increased self-awareness and confidence
Better use of existing strengths, leading to improved performance
Improved working relationships
More effective dialogue and communication
A better work/life balanc and improved wellbeing
