About Me

I really enjoy working with individuals and teams, helping them make the most of their talents, whether at the highest level of management or starting out on their leadership journey.

I have been coaching for 7 years and have coached hundreds of individuals from commercial organisations large and small, including Astrazeneca, Barclays, Co-operative Group and Shell and – in the public sector – Local Government, Emergency Services and NHS. In all cases, I work with the coachee and, if appropriate, their manager to agree the overall aims and objectives of the coaching intervention, along with the desired outcomes and timescales.
I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching and also one in Team Coaching. My approach is always practical and tailored for the individual’s own situation, needs and aims. My style is friendly and informal; however, I’m afraid to challenge or give honest feedback. My coaching is largely non-directive, using clear questions to help individuals to become more self-aware.

I use a psychologically based approach using range of techniques depending on the client’s issues, willingness to change, level of experience and their own preferred way of working. In all cases, I will help set challenging yet realistic targets aimed at improving individual performance and maximizing the contribution to team goals.

The theories underpinning my work include: use of self, parts of self, visualisation, deep listening, transactional analysis, emotional intelligence, immunity to change, mindfulness and the impact of organizational systems.
